The Sun, The Moon, and Jason Munn

Jason Munn.

I could just stop there and let the pictures speak for themselves, but I suppose a little chatter is required.

The minimalist style of Jason Munn's work is pleasing to the eye, and his visual metaphors are stunning. Even when I don't get the inside joke behind his posters, I still enjoy the design. When he uses color, it's in such a way where even contrasting colors compliment each other. When he uses line, every stroke is intentional.

The four Munn posters which made the cut this week are below. I didn't notice until after the final cut, but I seem to particularly enjoy Munn's use of vertical lines in his images. The direction and movement of each image is highlighted by those vertical strokes, and they add a great deal of emphasis.

Take a moment and indulge yourself in the story that each image creates. You can click on each image to view it larger. When you have some free time to peruse more of Jason Munn's work, visit his site here.
