Paper, Paint, and Scissors

This week's blog post is all about Eric Carle. He's been one of my favorite illustrators for a while, and I really like his style. He works with cut paper, making a collage image with them. Often, he paints paper before he cuts it. This yields the custom colors and patterns which make his style recognizable.

Below, you can see Eric Carle at work, painting some paper in his studio.
The second image shows some painted paper drying in his studio.



This final image is actually a series of images from Eric Carle's book, titled All Around Us. This shows the variety of his work as he utilizes color, shape, size, movement, and more.
